ActionStation and the Coalition for Better Broadcasting have joined forces with a diverse group of six industry experts to run a crowdfunded public inquiry into the current state, and future prospects, of public interest broadcasting and media in Aotearoa New Zealand.

The panelists traveled to Wellington, Nelson, Dunedin, Christchurch, Tauranga and Auckland holding collaborative workshops with the public and other media experts. Based on the submissions collected at these workshops, and online - the panel will create a people-powered report with policy recommendations to deliver to the Government before Budget Day on May 25th. What are we looking for?

What international models could we learn from?

What content do New Zealanders most want and need?

Who should make the decisions about our media?

How do we fund public broadcasting and media? And should we?

And much, much more.

How you can get involved

From Sunday 19th February - Sunday 26th March, our panel will travel to Auckland, Wellington, Nelson, Christchurch, Dunedin and Tauranga to gather the views of New Zealanders about how we can improve public broadcasting and media in this wonderful country.

Your submissions, plus national and international research, will inform our people-powered report and policy recommendations to be delivered to the Government in May.

You don't need to be an expert to have your say, you just need to be interested in improving public broadcasting and media in Aotearoa.
